Hello, I’m Roy Turnham – a Paralympian, musician, sports coach, and sight-loss awareness advocate. Blind since birth, I’ve dedicated my life to breaking down barriers for people with sight loss. My journey hasn’t been without challenges, but growing up in a family where my parents, siblings and me all shared a visual impairment taught me that determination, resilience, and creativity can overcome almost anything.
My life has been shaped by an incredible variety of experiences, from competing at the highest levels of sport to empowering communities through grassroots initiatives. Along the way, I’ve learned the value of patience, problem-solving, and creating positive, supportive environments where people feel comfortable to ask questions and grow.
